Pakistan is facing a growing humanitarian crisis as worsening floods are affecting even more people than the Boxing Day Tsunami and Haiti earthquake combined. Over 6,000 villages have been wiped off the face of the earth.
Heavy monsoon rains have triggered the worst floods since 1929. The severe flooding in Pakistan has affected close to 14 million people. Over 1,600 dead and 12 million displaced and in need of emergency relief.
Days of torrential rain has caused rivers to burst their banks causing widespread destruction to houses, schools, roads and railway tracks.
Jamea Masjid is looking to provide money for long-term relief and is calling upon all donors to help us raise as much as possible for the people affected by these floods. Your money will help contribute towards various items such as:
- Income generating projects
- Shelter / house construction
- Water projects
- Food aid
- Most needy
